The New Boston PHP Video Tutorials

I have to say, that when I started coding in Java, The New Boston was a savior for me. Basically, the site contains hundreds of video tutorials that show you how to program in different programming languages (well... mostly; there are a few odd tutorials here and there, dedicated to biology, chemistry, etc.). I am not gonna lie - I was impressed with the way in which Bucky teaches! He helped me understand programming better than any lecturer ever did.

Future Profession: Web Developer

After finishing my degree in Mobile and Wearable Computing, I decided that I want to become a Web Developer after all. Of course "Web Developer" is a really broad term, but I am certain that I want to be involved in this area of computing. It is fun! It is interesting! And it really sucks me in for hours.
Ok, that's all really nice, but what is the catch, you ask? Well, the problem is, it is difficult to start, because information available on the Internet alone is overwhelming. There is a vast number of tutorials, books, websites and blogs on the topic, and I really don't know what to choose first!
That is why I decided to document my journey of becoming a web developer, here on this blog. I will share interesting articles that I found, tutorials worth following and other useful resources that helped me in the process, as well as my weekly progress describing what I have learnt in the past week and what are my plans for the weeks to come.
If you are interested in joining me on this adventure - go ahead! Everyone is welcome.

Beginnings, beginnings

I am a bunch of things. I am a soon-to-be-ex-student. I'm graduating in July and will hopefully acquire a Bachelor of Science degree in Mobile and Wearable Computing. BUT.. I want to be a Web Developer instead. I will not say that switching courses 2 years back was a mistake, cause I did learn a few useful things. However, this is not my thing. Web development, on the other hand, is definitely a "my thing". I love doing it, it is something that makes me happy, so I definitely want to improve in this field, and become a full on Web Developer. And I like the sound of that, I must say.
What else could I say about me? I am a beauty lover. Not in a sense that I like admiring beauty, though I wouldn't mind to do that, but I am seriously sucked into beauty videos on YouTube. I watch them for hours, which might seem crazy, but this is something I like. Which is kinda crazy, as I was never really into that. And I am slowly becoming a beauty junky, but fortunately, I don't have enough money to splurge now, as I need to save for Canada.
Oh yes, Canada. The big dream of mine. The paradise place I want to visit, and hopefully move to. Well, a paradise might be a bit too big word to use, since I've never been there before, but I have high hopes for it. So please, Canada, do not disappoint me! So we can say, that I hopefully am a future Canadian, aha.
Also, I am a tv shows addict. I love watching loads of tv series - Revolution, Grey's Anatomy, Once Upon a Time, and that is only to name a few. My love grew so big that I have joined Dream Team, as we call ourselves, and help writing subtitles for tv shows that are in English. Translating English to Polish is not always such an easy task as one might think, even if you are a student in UK. But there it is, my passion for languages that I had since I was a little child. So you can say I am a translator/language fanatic too.
And I am probably many more things, but I figured that these were the ones worth mentioning.

I'll speak to you in my next post xx
